2017: Currently manage strategy, technology and HR as UL gears towards a big retail expansion in 2017/18; On the technology front, we are automating a ton of backend processes and building systems that handle the move to a single brand as well as the GST regime; we are also at the forefront of creating cutting edge VR experiences in the omni-channel expansion. 2016: Consolidated operations, product portfolio, team and efforts towards moving to a self-sustaining model; This was the year of optimization and fine tuning on multiple fronts to ensure that efforts of the team were focused on fewer initiatives; Raised a $15Mn round. 2015: Launched the UL mobile app which ended up contributing ~30% of revenue; Got on board the first set of senior leads including CTO, CPO, CHRO; widened our product portfolio and the rapidly expanded the team. Raised $50Mn from Sequoia Capital towards the expansion. Got on board Anand Rajaraman and Venky Harinarayanan as investors. 2014: Expanded to the top 15 cities on our operations front. Raised $20Mn from Steadview and roped in Mr. Ratan Tata as an investor; Pioneered exciting new technologies such as AR (Living Spaces app) and visualization along with creating fantastic brand properties (newsletter, Facebook presence etc.) and our first TV ad. UL became the epitome of customer satisfaction with an NPS of 0.75. 2013: Scaled up the team on marketing, customer service, technology, product, merchandising, brand and HR; Moved to a bigger office and raised $5Mn from SAIF Partners; Urban Ladder became known as the online furniture brand of the urban Indian middle class. 2012 : Founded Urban Ladder (UL) with Ashish Goel with the vision of making millions of homes beautiful; raised $1 Mn from Kalaari Capital; got on board a small team that launched the UL experience for customers in July 2012; focused my efforts on technology, online & offline marketing, brand, merchandising, and customer service.
