Waste Post #01

If one goes by the books, there are around 5 different types of waste. Broadly if we see, there are basically 3 types of waste –

Wet Waste – Waste that is generated in the kitchen is Wet/Organic Waste. It includes the vegetable and fruit peels, cooked uneaten food, egg shells, fish and meat bones etc. In short; whatever we can digest (but we waste) is Wet Waste

Dry Waste - Dry Waste consists of waste that doesn’t decay. It is free of organic material such as food. It is also known as non-biodegradable waste. Examples – plastic bottles, glass, rubber, timber, textile etc.

Hazardous Waste - is a waste with properties that make it potentially dangerous or harmful to human health or the environment like paints & solvents, pesticides, electronic items etc.

The other types of wastes are Medical Waste and Recyclable Waste

Enjoy the Weekend!
