Growth Hacking : The Touch Points

"This is going to be an era of Growth Marketing", So are they saying, while I pondered “Isn’t it been staying all along the way of marketing”? Something like old wine in new package type of thing? So I studied, I talked with some eminent marketers and got some interesting points to share.

Growth Hacking: What is it?

In Layman language- expand one’s business exponentially but cost effectively via any means possible.

Advance Definition – Creative and rapid experiments done via multi-channel and multi platforms to gain a huge market base and to penetrate the same in a small time frame. Growth hacking utilizes all analytical tools and data segmentation process to perform various sets of A/B testing to reach to the designated goal.

Growth Hackers- Are they Magicians?

However, contrary to the belief, it is not necessary that a growth hacker need to have a strong technical background. While I feel it is an added benefit, but many successful growth hackers are simply good marketers. The father of the term, Sean Ellis rightly said, “ growth is the true north for a growth hacker”. Rightly, anyone with focused intention to grow the business and have clear set of ideas, love to play with data and can instantly work upon a strategy that will have a viral effect, can be a growth hacker.

Demand of Growth Hacking

Primarily, any start-ups will like to get growth hackers for their business. Since the start ups have a constraint with resources but a huge appetite, growth hackers are kinda “god –father” to them. More with the prediction of e-commerce boom in this year, definitely the “term” Growth hacker will be around for some time now.

Growth Hacking – My Opinion

Still, I am yet to be convinced that growth hacking is new. To me it is just another filtered out term from main digital marketing fundamentals. A rather focused terminology, that can help a recruiter to hire for a specific skill set professional. I am sure many digital marketers (including myself) have done “creative” process to “virally” promote a business or services. Just like that I have been using A/B testing for long to accommodate a suited digital marketing plan.

Am I naive or just refusing to see some bigger picture? Whatever may it be, but definitely I am open to learn. So people, please drop in your valuable insight.

And Cheers to the Coming Era. Let we all Grow Soulfully
