Be Friendly Not Friends: One of the most significant blunders that people do in the corporate world is friends with their subordinates or colleagues. As comforting as it sounds, it makes it very difficult to delegate tasks to them in the long run, and that fine line between personal and professional life starts to blur out.
Always be Diplomatic with Management: It is essential to be diplomatic in the corporate world, hundred fancy degrees doesn't mean that they can positively take criticism. One wrong statement and they can put your promotion, appraisal, etc. on pause. Always compliment their work, suggest changes in very cheerful manner.
Efficient doesn't mean faster: Lot of corporate offices build work structure around how many hours you are serving in office, it should never work that way. Instead of making someone sit in the office for 14 hours straight with small work, assign them tasks with a deadline and let them decide their schedule. Let them be their boss in one or other way. Also there will be always be other processes for employees that are supposed to be seamless & efficient but a lot of times it's just a vicious loop & cumbersome to get sucked into.
