Currently working on the TVS-BMW <500cc motorcycles Venture. The venture looked-for new engine model and am assigned to exercise my expertise on Transmission parts development for the new engine developed and manufactured in India. Influential in meeting the critical performance characteristics and was highly applauded. We ensure Traceability of parts manufactured which helped majorly in not missing the critical parameters of the requirements. My learning in this product development life cycle was a) that we adopted BMW’s way of tracking the problems which they call it as ‘PQM(Product Quality Management) Methodology’ b) Part level contamination targets . Exposed to Special process such as Cam lobe Grinding,Cam milling, Journal Grinding, Superfinishing, Multi-Stage Honing , bore finishing systems & operations. Developed Cam drivers suiting multimodel Cam profile measurement equipment's. Developed Machining process steps for manufacturing First of its Kind Camshafts Machining(Negative Profile) & instrumental in meeting the meeting the intended engine performance. Design & development of close loop feedback Servo controlled Presses for pressing Crankshafts & balancershaft with gears for interference upto 100 microns. Developed special presses for Pin flaring arrangements, Plug pressing & leak testing equipments.
