Module Lead- Closures, Glasses & Seals Design - Cars & Utility Vehicles (September 2015 onwards): Leading a design team for Closures (Hood / Bonnet, Fender, Side Doors, Tailgate / Trunklid), Glasses & Rubber Seals for all new Cars / Utility vehicles emphasizing commonisation. Involved from Concept phase, Detail Design to Series Production & field complaints resolution. Responsible for meeting Cost, Weight and Quality / Functional targes. Implementation of new light-weighting technologies during feasibility stage of new Programmes. Taking Care of Value Engineering (VAVE) proposals for Cost & Weight reduction on current Series Production cars without change in performance & Processes. Responsible for resource planning & management, defining Scope of Work (SOWs) with time estimation for Engineering Suppliers & Offshore Development Centers (ODCs). Optimising Resource utilization to meet Project budgets. CoC Lead- Closures Design - Cars (April 2013 to August 2015): Responsible for Tailgate design on Nano GenX, the world’s cheapest Hatch back (Launched in May 2015) & Tiago Hatch back (Launched in April 2016). Designed Trunk Lid of an upcoming Compact Sedan with market leading boot space. Developed APQP common documents viz. DFMEAs, DVPs and Design Rules for design time reduction & meeting quality targets. Use of new Lightweight technologies such as Aluminium to achieve weight & cost targets. Successfully engineered the contemporary Styling of Closures meeting Low Cost Stamping requirements. Simultaneous coordination with Engineering with Styling & Manufacturing teams for reducing time to delivery. Saved Rs. 85 Lacs (FY 2014-15) in Closures of Tata cars (In-Production) using VA / VE. Co-Developed CAE procedure to predict Tailgate Sag with 90% correlation on Production Vehicles. Won first prize in the ERC Technical Seminar -2013 for Proposal of B Pillar Less Body Design.
