Summary

An alumni of National Institute Of Fashion Technology, Ayan started his career way back in 2008 as a junior designer. His first project of warp printing – (printing delicate patterns on the warp of a fabric and then weaving it ) for the European furnishing industry was an instant hit.

This was followed with more work with global textile brands Following this he joined the Ministry Of Textiles, Government of India. Giving an Indian twist to global designs with innovation and practicality became his signature style. After the end of his tenure, he was absorbed by the Ministry of Textiles Government Of West Bengal and Ministry Of Sericulture, Government of MP for development of textiles of global taste in their respective states.

His love for structural textiles gave rise to his first company Weaves Of India. He made it among one of the pioneer in Indian handloom sector in the B2B category. During this tenure, he was honorary jury member for NIFT Kolkata and guest lecturer for the University Of Calcutta and NIFT Kolkata.

Moving on he became the Brand Architect for NuHome and took it to the top 10 domestic Brand in furnishing and décor in India.

He currently leads Loomshed In developing some of the finest linens in the home furnishing category in the world.

Back in 2016, I started the division Loomshed for HML from an ideology which implies great quality product with timeless appeal and right priced. Launched innovative products across 18 category which is becoming a trustworthy name for some of the top luxury brands of the world in the B2B segment and is still growing. The success of Loomshed was featured as the top 20 most promising brands in Architectural Digest India and Elle Décor India in their annual yearbook 2018. Thus successfully created and still expanding the 3rdbrand building of my career, guiding it in areas of designing; operational management; purchases; customer liaison; vendor integration;sales strategies and finance.

Started off with just 15 weavers in a political earnest region, Incorporated around 50,000 weavers by the end of the project bringing social and financial upliftment to their lives. The course of action included training of weavers, creating consortium among them and planning & implementing funds to develop self help design centers at different part of the state. The product thus developed travelled across the globe to various Indian Government foreign trade exhibit. For the efforts, Shantipur District in West Bengal won the best progressive cluster award among 32 clusters in India.
